Men’s golf team in 14th-place at OWU Strimer Invitational
Competing for the first time this spring, the Olivet College men’s golf team is in 14th-place after the first day of the Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Memorial Invitational at the Oakhaven Golf Course in Delaware, Ohio.
DELAWARE, Ohio – Competing for the first time this spring, the Olivet College men's golf team is in 14th-place after the first day of the Ohio Wesleyan University Strimer Memorial Invitational at the Oakhaven Golf Course in Delaware, Ohio.
The Comets posted a 340 team score to sit only three strokes ahead of last-place Hiram (Ohio) College. Wittenberg (Ohio) University leads the 15-team field with a 293.
Senior Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) and sophomore Benjamin Hart (Rockford/Lowell) both carded an 83 to lead Olivet. Freshman Joseph Gauck (Belding/Lowell) shot an 85. Freshmen Matt Sherry (Salem Twp./South Lyon) and Jacob VanDeusen (Clinton Twp./Clintondale) had an 89 and 107, respectively.
Tomorrow's final round features a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
