Men’s golf team cards season-low 308 at Defiance Fall Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team carded a season-low 308 team score to finish in second-place today at the Defiance College Fall Invitational, played at the Kettering Golf Course in Defiance, Ohio.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Olivet College men's golf team carded a season-low 308 team score to finish in second-place today at the Defiance College Fall Invitational, played at the Kettering Golf Course in Defiance, Ohio.
Owens Community College (Ohio) shot a blazing 287 team score. The Comets' 308 was one stroke ahead of Owens' "B" team. Rochester College took third at 313, followed by Cleary University, 326; Defiance, 327; and Trine University, 339. Blaze Hogan from Owens was the medalist with a four-under-par 67.
Senior Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Clintondale) was part of a tie for fourth in the player standings with a three-over-par 74. Freshman Daniel Buehler (Delton/Hastings) finished one stroke behind at 75 to tie for sixth-place. Sophomore Benjamin Hart (Rockford/Lowell) posted a 79. Freshman Joseph Gauck (Belding/Lowell) completed his round in 80 strokes, and freshman Matt Sherry (Salem Township/South Lyon East) rounded out Olivet's lineup with an 82.
Olivet is back in action tomorrow when it participates in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree at the Kalamazoo Country Club.
