Men’s golf team is 14th at Nye Intercollegiate
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in 14th-place at the 2013 Nye Intercollegiate, which was hosted by the College of Wooster (Ohio) and played at the Wooster Country Club.
WOOSTER, Ohio – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in 14th-place at the 2013 Nye Intercollegiate, which was hosted by the College of Wooster (Ohio) and played at the Wooster Country Club.
After posting a 367 team score in Saturday's first round, the Comets shaved 24 strokes off their total today for a two-round total of 710 strokes. Wittenberg (Ohio) University led the 16-team field with a 609, which was 21 strokes better than runner-up University of Mount Union (Ohio).
Junior Nick Julian tied for 21st in the player standings with a 161 (78-83). Freshman Benjamin Hart completed his two rounds in 168 (87-81) strokes. Junior Martin Holdren improved the most today, dropping 13 strokes for a two-round total of 173 (93-80). Freshman Justin Spayd carded a 208 (109-99).
Olivet will wrap-up its 2012-13 season Saturday when it participates in the Bill Gettig Invitational at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
