Men’s golfers tie for fifth at Calvin Knight Invite
The Olivet College men’s golf team carded a 334 team score to finish in a three-way tie for fifth-place today the Calvin College Knight Invite at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Course in Grand Rapids.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team carded a 334 team score to finish in a three-way tie for fifth-place today the Calvin College Knight Invite at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Course in Grand Rapids.
The Comets' score tied them with Albion and Hope. Davenport University won the team title with 318 strokes, followed by Cornerstone University, 325; Grand Rapids Community College, 330; and Calvin, 331.
Junior Nick Julian shared fourth-place in the player standings with a 79. Freshman Benjamin Hart was one stroke behind at 80. Junior Martin Holdren finished his round in 86 strokes, while junior Chris Watkins recorded an 89. Freshman Justin Spayd needed 106 strokes to complete his round.
Olivet will make the trip to Ohio to compete at the College of Wooster/Nye Intercollegiate this Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21 at the Wooster Country Club.
