Men’s golf team seventh at MIAA Jamboree #6
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed seventh at the MIAA Jamboree #6 this afternoon at Pine River Country Club in Alma.
ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team placed seventh at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #6 this afternoon at Pine River Country Club in Alma.
The Comets finished with a 312 team score and were two strokes behind sixth-place Albion. Calvin won the jamboree with a 301, Hope took second at 305, Adrian and Alma tied for third at 306, and Trine (Ind.) was fifth at 308.
Junior Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) continued his superb season, tying for second in the player standings with a one-over par 73. Senior Justin Ardelean (Owosso) was part of a tie for ninth-place in the player standings with a 75. Senior Cody Crites (Owosso) was next at 78. Freshman Benjamin Hart (Rockford/Lowell) completed his round in 86 strokes, and junior Martin Holdren (New Bremen, Ohio) finished in 88 strokes.
Calvin maintains its lead in the overall MIAA standings by 20 strokes over Trine, 1,811-1,831. Ten strokes separate third (Hope 1,838) and fourth (Adrian 1,848), and fifth (Alma 1,863) and sixth (Albion 1,873). Olivet is seventh at 1,887, and Kalamazoo is eighth at 1,938.
The Comets will be right back on the golf course Monday afternoon for the seventh league jamboree at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
