Men’s golf team finishes in third-place at MIAA Jamboree #3
Battling a persistent rain shower, the Olivet College men’s golf team finished in third-place at the MIAA Jamboree #3 today on its home course, the Bedford Valley Country Club.
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Battling a persistent rain shower, the Olivet College men's golf team finished in third-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3 today on its home course, the Bedford Valley Country Club.
The Comets posted a 310 team score, which was 11 strokes behind team champion Hope and seven strokes behind second-place Adrian. Alma was fourth at 312, followed by Albion and Calvin tied in fifth at 316 strokes, Trine in seventh at 318 and Kalamazoo in eighth at 328.
Junior Justin Ardelean (Owosso) and freshman Kory Roberts (Battle Creek/Lakeview) were both in a group of nine golfers, who tied for fourth in the player standings with 75s. Senior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) was fourth strokes behind them with a 79. Sophomore Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) completed his round in 81 strokes. Junior Ronnie Fesko (Henderson/Owosso) shot an 82.
Alma continues to lead the overall standings with a three-round total of 928 strokes. Adrian is second with 932, followed by Hope, 934. Olivet is tied with Trine for fourth with 943.
The Comets will now be off until next Tuesday, Sept. 20, when they play in the fourth league jamboree at the Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo.
