Men’s golf team places ninth at Gettig Invitational
The men’s golf team placed ninth of 10 schools at the Bill Gettig Invitational, hosted by Trine (Ind.) University today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's golf team placed ninth of 10 schools at the Bill Gettig Invitational, hosted by Trine (Ind.) University today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
The Comets posted a 393 team score, as the tournament had all five golfers' scores in the team's lineup count. Ohio Northern University edged Adrian College for the team title by one stroke, 368-369.
Olivet's first four golfers were each separated by one stroke. Freshman Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) was first at 75, followed sophomore Ronnie Fesko (Henderson/Owosso) 76, freshman Martin Holdren (New Bremen, Ohio/New Bremen) 77 and freshman Kevin Fields (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) 78. Freshman Tyler Swinehart (Plainwell) was last with an 87.
The Comets will close out their 2010-11 season next Friday at the Lourdes (Ohio) College Invitational.
