Men’s golf team is runner-up at MIAA Jamboree #4
In one of the closest rounds of the season, the men’s golf team finished in second-place at the fourth MIAA jamboree today at the Milham Park Golf Course.
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- In one of the closest rounds of the season, the Olivet College men's golf team finished in second-place at the fourth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association jamboree today at the Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo.
The Comets posted a 298 team score to trail Hope by just one stroke. Adrian was third at 299, followed by Calvin, 301; Albion, 302; Alma, 303; Trine, 307; and Kalamazoo, 312.
Olivet's five golfers were only separated by four strokes. Freshman Ryan Bailey (Battle Creek/Lakeview) tied for fourth in the player standings with a one-over-par 73. Freshman Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) was next at 74. Junior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) had a 75, and sophomore Justin Ardelean (Owosso) and senior Nick Harless (DeWitt) each carded a 76.
With the finish, the Comets move into a tie with Calvin for second-place in the league's seasonal standings. Trine continues to lead the race.
The fifth league jamboree is Saturday at Adrian's Lenawee Country Club.
