Men’s golf team ties for sixth-place at MIAA Jamboree #3
The men’s golf team tied for sixth-place at the MIAA Jamboree #3, which was played at Trine’s Zollner Golf Course.
ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Olivet College men's golf team tied for sixth-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3, which was played at Trine's Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
The Comets carded a 298 team score to tie Alma. The host Thunder took top honors at 275, followed by Adrian, 286; Calvin, 295; Hope, 295; and Albion, 296. Adrian's Jordan Kelly tied the course record with a 65 to earn medalist honors.
Individually, sophomore Justin Ardelean (Owosso) was part of a tie for seventh with a one-over-par 72. Freshman Ryan Bailey (Battle Creek/Lakeview) was next with a 74. Freshman Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley) and junior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) each needed 76 strokes to complete their round. Senior Nick Harless (DeWitt) rounded out the Olivet lineup with a 79.
With the finish, the Comets slip one spot into third-place in the seasonal standings. Trine is first at 833, followed by Calvin (904), Olivet (906), Hope (908), Adrian (909), Albion (919), Alma (942) and Kalamazoo (970).
The Comets will return to the golf course on Tuesday at the fourth jamboree, which will be hosted by Kalamazoo at the Milham Park Golf Course.
