The men’s golf team finished in sixth-place at the MIAA Jamboree #2, hosted by Albion College at the Medalist Golf Club.
MARSHALL, Mich. -- The Olivet College men's golf team finished in sixth-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #2, hosted by Albion College at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Comets had a 319 team score. Calvin took first-place with a 303. Trine (Ind.) was second (307), followed by Hope (310), Albion (315) and Adrian (318). Alma and Kalamazoo were seventh and eighth at 325 and 332, respectively.
Olivet was led by freshman Ryan Bailey (Battle Creek/Lakeview), who tied for eighth in the player standings with a 76. The other four golfers were each separated by one stroke. Senior Nick Harless (DeWitt) had an 80, followed by freshman Nick Julian (Clinton Twp./Chippewa Valley), 81; sophomore Justin Ardelean (Owosso), 82; and junior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth), 83.
Despite today's finish, the Comets sit in second-place in the MIAA seasonal standings with 608 total strokes. Trine leads at 602. The rest of the scores are: Hope, 613; Adrian, 623; Albion, 623; Alma, 644; Kalamazoo, 650.
The next league jamboree is Saturday at Trine's Zollner Golf Course. Action begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
