The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in second-place today at the Trine University/A.C. Eddy Invitational at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.

The Comets posted a 306 team score to finish behind the host Thunder, who shot a 287 team score. The rest of the team scores were Rochester, 309; Albion, 313; Glen Oaks Community College, 320; and Hope, 321.
Olivet was led by the trio of senior Luke Godin (Barrie, Ontario/Innisdale Secondary), junior Nick Harless (DeWitt) and sophomore Grant Spencer (Olivet), who each carded 76. Harless and Spencer had 37s on the front nine and 39s on the back nine, while Godin had a 36 on the front and a 40 on the back.
Freshman Tyler Parkin (Alanson/Harbor Springs) recorded 38s on the front and back nine for a 78. Junior Cam LaFountain (Marshall) completed his round in 79 total strokes. The Comets were the only school with all five golfers posting scores below 80.
Olivet will close out its spring schedule next Friday and Saturday, April 23-24, at the College of Wooster/Nye Invitational. The 36-hole tournament will be played at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
