Men’s golf team wins MIAA Jamboree #6
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed first at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #6 today at Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive.

The Comets carded a 291 team score to beat the host Flying Dutchmen by one stroke. Trine (Ind.) University was third at 297, followed by Albion (300), Adrian (310), Calvin (311), Kalamazoo (315), and Alma (323).
All four Olivet scorers were within one stroke of each other. Seniors Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michael's Catholic) and Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) led the way and tied for fourth-place in the player standings with a 72. Freshman Drew Lasky (Marshall) was part of four-way tie for fifth-place with a 73. Senior Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) shot a 74. Sophomore Nick Harless (DeWitt) posted a 78.
With two league jamborees remaining, the Comets hold a 23 stroke lead over Hope, 1,776-1,799. Trine is third with a 1,808, followed by Albion (1,847), Calvin (1,872), Kalamazoo (1,905), Adrian (1,908) and Alma (1,916).
The final two MIAA will take place next week. On Monday, the Comets will play at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids, and on Thursday, they will play at Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo.
