Men’s golf team captures team title at Trine/A.C. Eddy Invitational
Senior Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) earned medalist honors, and the Olivet College men’s golf team captured the team title (out of eight schools) today at the Trine University/A.C. Eddy Invitational.
Senior Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) earned medalist honors, and the Olivet College men's golf team captured the team title (out of eight schools) today at the Trine University/A.C. Eddy Invitational, which was played at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
The Comets posted a 291 team score to beat the host Thunder by 10 strokes. Hope College was third at 306, followed by Owens (Ohio) Community College, 307; Holy Cross (Ind.) College, 310; Albion and Calvin colleges, 317; and Aquinas College, 319.
Ross shot a two-under par 70. Sophomore Nick Harless (DeWitt) fired an even par 72. Senior Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michaels Catholic) posted a 74, followed by senior Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) at 75 and junior Luke Godin (Barrie, Ontario/Innisdale Secondary) at 76. Sophomore Cameron LaFountain (Marshall) was an individual player and shot a 73.
Olivet will return to action Thursday, April 23, when it participates in the Spring University Invitational. The tournament is a one-day, 36-hole event.
