Men’s golf team finishes in second-place at the MIAA Jamboree #3
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in second-place today at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3, which was held at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olivet. Despite the finish, the Comets maintain their lead in the 2007 MIAA seasonal standings.

Hope College took first-place on its home course with a 292 team score, followed by Olivet at 297. Rounding out the top five teams were Albion, 301; Alma, 302; and Tri-State, 304. Albion's Mark McLaughlin earned medalist honors with a 70. In the seasonal standings, the Comets are first at 904, followed by Hope, 909; Alma, 931; Albion, 934; and Tri-State, 942.
Junior Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) posted a 73 (34-39) in today's round to lead Olivet and finish fifth in the player standings. Junior Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michael's Catholic) and senior Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) each had a 74. Junior Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) shot a 76, and junior Jacob Johnson (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) rounded out the Olivet lineup with an 80.
After three rounds, Gleadall, Ross and Kiss rank 2-3-4, respectively in the overall player standings. Gleadall has 219 strokes, followed by Ross (226) and Kiss (227). At the end of the season, the top six players will earn first-team All-MIAA honors.
Olivet continues the road to a MIAA championship Thursday when it participates in the next league jamboree at The Prairies Golf Course in Kalamazoo. The round begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
