Men’s golf team ties for third-place at the Denison (Ohio) Ted Barclay Spring Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team tied for third-place at the Denison (Ohio) University/Ted Barclay Spring Invitational, which was contested at the Granville Country Club.
The Olivet College men's golf team tied for third-place at the Denison (Ohio) University/Ted Barclay Spring Invitational, which was contested at the Granville Country Club.
DePauw (Ind.) University led the 13-team field with a 597, followed Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) College at.603. Following a 312 team score in yesterday's first round, the Comets dropped 13 strokes off their team score today for a two round score of 611 strokes and tie Denison for third-place.
Sophomore Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) led Olivet with a 147, including a tournament low 70 in today's final round. Individually, he tied Josh Abrams from Denison for second-place.
Senior Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario/McKinnon Park) was four strokes behind with a 151 (78-73). Following him was freshman Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) with a 157 (78-79) and senior Steve Ross (Rockford) and freshman Robbe Trout (Charlotte) each with a 158.
Olivet will next compete in the two-day Davenport University Panther Invitational Friday-Saturday, April 14-15, at Thornapple Pointe Golf Club in Grand Rapids.
