Men’s golf team places third at MIAA Jamboree #5
For the fourth straight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree, the Olivet College men’s golf team has finished in third-place. Today’s fifth league event was hosted by Tri-State (Ind.) University at its Zollner Golf Course.

The Comets had a team score of 295 strokes and were 20 strokes behind the host Thunder and six strokes behind Hope College. With today's finish, Tri-State takes control of first-place in the overall MIAA standings by one stroke. Olivet is third, 41 strokes behind Hope.
Junior Derrick Sayers (Battle Creek/Lakeview) led the Comets with a one-under par 71, which tied him for sixth-place. Sophomore Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) was next at 72. Freshman Robbe Trout (Charlotte) fired a 74, followed by freshman Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michaels Catholic) at 78 and senior Steve Ross (Rockford) at 79.
Hope College hosts the next MIAA Jamboree Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive.
