Men's golf team finishes in third-place at 2005 O.C. Comet Classic
The Olivet College men’s golf team finished in third-place today at the 2005 O.C. Comet Classic at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in third-place today at the 2005 O.C. Comet Classic at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
The Comets carded a team score of 314 strokes today for a two-day score of 614. Hope College won the team title with a team score of 611 (308-303) strokes. Aquinas College was second with a 613 (305-308).
Individually, senior Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario/McKinnon Park) tied for sixth with a 151 (76-75). Following him was sophomore Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) at 153, senior Steve Ross (Rockford) at 157, freshman Robbe Trout (Charlotte) at 159 and freshman Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) at 161.
The Comets will now begin its quest for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship when they participate in the first MIAA Jamboree next Thursday, Sept. 8, at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. Albion College is the host school.
