Men’s golf team ties Tri-State for second-place at MIAA Jamboree #6
The Olivet College men's golf team tied Tri-State (Ind.) University for second-place this afternoon at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #6 at Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive. Hope College served as the host.

For the second straight MIAA Jamboree, the Fighting Comets tallied a team score of 299 strokes to tie Tri-State (Ind.) University. Hope College was first with a 297 team score. With two league jamborees left, Olivet stands in third-place with a 301.7 average. Tri-State leads the way with a 297.8 average, followed closely by Hope with a 299.3 average.
Today, senior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) tied for second with a 72 (35-37). Junior Steve Ross (Rockford) was fourth with a 73, including a jamboree low 33 on the back nine.
Freshman Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) had a solid round of 74 (38-36) strokes, followed by freshman Justin Gusczinski (Hanover-Horton) with an 80 (44-36) and senior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar) with an 82 (41-41).
The Comets are idle until the seventh MIAA Jamboree next Monday, Oct. 4, at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids. Calvin College will serve as the host.
