Men's golf team is third at MIAA Jamboree #5
The Olivet College men's golf team placed third today at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #5 at the Pine River Country Club in Alma.
The Olivet College men's golf team placed third today at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #5 at the Pine River Country Club in Alma.
The Fighting Comets had a team score of 299 strokes. Hope College was first with a 292 and Tri-State (Ind.) University was one stroke behind with a 293. With three remaining league jamborees, Tri-State tops the standings with 297.6 average, followed closely by Hope with a 299.8 average and Olivet with a 302.2 average.
Individually, senior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) tied for seventh with a 74. Senior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar), junior Steve Ross (Rockford) and freshmen Justin Gusczinski (Hanover-Horton) and Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) all had a 75 for the Comets.
Hope hosts the sixth MIAA Jamboree this Monday, Sept. 27, at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive.
