Men’s golf team finishes in 4th-place at MIAA Jamboree #1
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in fourth-place this afternoon at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) jamboree of the 2004 season at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.

The Fighting Comets tallied a team score of 329 strokes. Tri-State (Ind.) University captured the team title with 316 strokes, followed by Hope and Albion colleges with a 319 and 323, respectively.
Leading the way for Olivet was senior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar), who placed second individually with a 77. Following him was the trio of senior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola), sophomore Dan Wiers (Byron Center/South Christian) and freshman Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek). All three fired a round of 84 strokes. Junior Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario) rounded out the Comet lineup with an 85.
Olivet is next in action when it hosts the second MIAA Jamboree next Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
