Men's golf team finishes in third-place at MIAA Jamboree #5
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in third-place today at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #5 at the Clearbrook Golf Club near Holland.

The Fighting Comets carded a team score of 310 strokes to finish nine strokes behind Calvin. Hope College won the jamboree with a score of 296 strokes. After five league jamborees, Hope is first with 1,517 strokes and Olivet is second with 1,549 strokes.
Individually, junior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) led the Comets with a 76. He slips to second-place in the MIAA medalist standings with a 75.2 stroke average.
He was followed by sophomore Steve Ross (Halstead (Kelowna, Ontario/Mount Boucherie) with a 77, senior Ryan Spencer (Chatham, Ontario/Chatham-Kent) with a 78, junior Stew Halstead (Kelowna, Ontario/Mount Boucherie) with a 79 and sophomore Mike Ward (Caledonia, Ontario) with an 81.
Olivet will conclude its fall schedule with the final two MIAA jamborees in the next seven days. On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Comets will play at the Lenawee Country Club in Adrian, and on Monday, Oct. 6, they will play Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids. Both days action will begin at 1 p.m.
