The Olivet College men's golf team finished in second-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #3 today at the Pine River Golf Course in Alma.
The Olivet College men's golf team finished in second-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree #3 today at the Pine River Golf Course in Alma.
The Fighting Comets carded a team-score of 304 strokes to finish a stroke behind Hope College. After three league jamborees, Hope also leads Olivet by a stroke (919-918).
Individually, junior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola) finished in second with a round of 73 strokes. He leads the individual standings with 222 strokes, a 74.0 average, and is six strokes ahead of 2002 medalist Justin Spyker of Hope.
Following Dinner today were junior Stew Halstead (Kelowna, Ontario/Mount Boucherie) with a 76, sophomore Steve Ross (Rockford) with a 77, freshman Dan Wiers (Byron Center/Grand Rapids South Christian) with a 78 and junior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar) with an 83.
Olivet will next be in action at the fourth MIAA Jamboree at the Wuskowhan Players Club in Holland. Teams will begin teeing-off at 12 noon.
