Men's golf team is seventh at Strimer Invitational
The Olivet College men’s golf team placed seventh (out of 16 teams) at the annual Strimer Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Yesterday’s first round was played at Dornoch Golf Club, and today’s second round was at the Oakhaven Golf Course.

After shooting a 316 team score in the first round, the Fighting Comets fired a 320 today for a two-day score 636 strokes. The host Battling Bishops won the team title with a 603 (297-306).
Leading the way for Olivet was junior Mike Dinner (Oakville, Ontario/St. Ignatius of Loyola), who finished the invitational with a two-day score of 152 strokes (74-78). Following him was junior Jon Stapleton (Oakville, Ontario/Oakville-Trafalgar) with a 154 (78-76).
Juniors Stew Halstead (Kelowna, British Columbia/Mount Boucherie), Jeff Jardine (Collingwood, Ontario/ Collingwood Collegiate) and Andrew Wismer (Thornhill, Ontario/Thornhill Secondary) all fired identical rounds both days with an 82 and 83 for a two-day score of 165 strokes. Senior Ryan Spencer (Chatham, Ontario/Chatham-Kent) competed as an individual and had rounds of 77 and 78.
Olivet wraps up its spring schedule tomorrow at the Otterbein (Ohio) College Invitational at The Medallion Club. The invitational is a one-day, 36-hole event.
