Olivet falls to Wheaton, 72-56

WHEATON, Ill. – The University of Olivet men's basketball team dropped a 72-56 decision to Wheaton (Ill.) College in the Lee Pfund Classic consolation game tonight inside King Arena. For his performance, sophomore Nathan Richardson was selected to the all-tournament team.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team held more than a four-point lead in the first six minutes and 20 seconds of the game. The Thunder went ahead by eight points twice at 20-12 and 22-14. Olivet fought back to close the gap to a single point, 23-22, with 6:16 left in the first half. Wheaton answered with nine straight points to take a double-digit lead for the first time. The Comets trailed by seven points, 36-29, at halftime. The closest Olivet got in the second half was three points, 39-36.
FOR THE COMETS
- Richardson led all scorers with 19 points.
- Sophomore Conner Schipper contributed 15 points.
- Freshman Porter Kretschman grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds.

- Olivet is off until Monday, December 2, when it hosts Ohio Northern University at 7 p.m.
