Olivet loses to Loras, 84-76

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Olivet men's basketball team suffered an 84-76 loss to the host Duhawks in its second game of the Loras College Tip-Off Tournament on Lillis Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Duhawks scored the first 11 points of the game. Loras extended its lead to 16 points on three occasions. After the third time at 40-24 with 4:41 left until halftime, the Comets went on an 8-2 run to trim their deficit down to 10 points. The Duhawks responded with six straight points to push their advantage back to 16 points, 48-32. Olivet scored the last basket of the half to trail 48-34 at the intermission. The Comets outscored Loras, 42-36, in the second half, to create the 84-76 final score.
- For the game, Olivet made three more baskets than the Duhawks. The difference was Loras made 25-of-33 free throws compared to 9-of-11 for the Comets.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Conner Schipper posted a team-high in points (22) and rebounds (five).
- Sophomore Nathan Richardson added 16 points to go along with three assists and three steals.
- Junior Evan Honnen scored 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from behind the arc.
