ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's basketball team was on the losing end of an 86-52 final score to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Adrian College this afternoon at the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center.
- Final Score: Adrian 86, Olivet 52
- Location: Merillat Sport & Fitness Center; Adrian, Michigan
- Records: Olivet 2-15 overall, 0-6 MIAA; Adrian 4-13 overall, 2-4 MIAA
- The Bulldogs led 10-5 at the 14:25 mark of the first half. The Comets scored the next six points for an 11-10 lead. The teams traded points to cause three tied scores. After the third at 16-16, Adrian went on a 14-4 run to gain its first double digit lead of the half. Olivet made a free throw to make score 30-21 before the Bulldogs ended the half with an 11-4 run to take a 41-25 lead at the break. The halftime deficit was too much for the Comets to overcome in the second half.
- Freshman Nathan Richardson led OIivet with 15 points and nine rebounds.
- Senior Ryan Bart added 12 points.
- Freshman Conner Schipper tallied 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
- Senior Noah Wiswary dished out four assists.
- "I have got to give some credit to Adrian today," said Olivet head coach Sam Hargraves. "We were holding each other in check for the first half of the first half. After that, it felt like we kept missing and they kept making, and we lost some of our toughness on defense. I thought maybe we'd mount a little comeback in the second half, but they were solid passing and made shots today. "
- The Comets begin a four-game homestand next Wednesday, January 24, when they welcome the Alma College Scots to the Cutler Event Center. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
