Men’s Basketball: Olivet denied by Anderson, 90-73

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's basketball team was defeated by Anderson (Ind.) University, 90-73, in a non-conference contest this afternoon inside the Cutler Event Center.

- The Ravens built a 24-8 lead at the 7:23 mark of the first half. The Comets fought back to trim the deficit down to seven points, 24-17, with 4:44 left until halftime. Anderson pushed its lead back to 16 points before a three-pointer for Olivet made the score 41-28 at halftime. In the opening 20 minutes, the Ravens had a 46.7 field goal percentage compared to 29.4 percent for the Comets.
- In the second half, Anderson stretched its lead to 16 points, 64-48, at the 12:42 mark. Olivet scored eight straight points to cut its deficit in half with 10:35 remaining in the game. The Comets did not get any closer for the rest of the game.
- For the game, the Ravens made 28-of-59 baskets, including 11-of-32 from three-point range, and 23-of-32 free throws. Olivet was 26-of-71, with nine three-pointers, and 11-of-14 from the charity stripe.
- Junior Mason Wichman scored a career-high 14 points in 18 minutes off the bench.
- Senior Noah Wiswary tallied 12 points, eight assists and two steals.
- Senior Ryan Bart and freshman Conner Schipper each had eight points.
- Schipper and senior Drew Weber grabbed six rebounds apiece.
- The Comets head to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, next week for two games at the Cruzin' Classic. Olivet faces Simpson (Iowa) College Wednesday at 5 p.m., and Ohio Northern University Thursday at 4 p.m. Both games are Barry University.
