Thigpen earns All-MIAA Second Team honors
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Eddie Thigpen has been named to the 2021-22 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Second Team honors. This honor is based on his performance during the Comets’ 14-game league schedule.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Eddie Thigpen has been named to the 2021-22 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Second Team. This honor is based on his performance during the Comets' 14-game league schedule.
Thigpen scored in double figures in eight MIAA games and finished with a 14.3 scoring average. He tallied 20 or more points in three of the games, including a single-game high 31 points in a 96-88 overtime win at Alma College. Thigpen's other stats included 40 rebounds, 30 assists, 12 steals and 12 blocks.
Entering tonight's MIAA Tournament game, Thigpen has started all 19 games he played in and led the Comets in scoring with a 15.4 points per game average. He posted a 43.9 field goal percentage (107-of-244), with 22 three-pointers, and 58.2 free throw percentage (57-of-98). Thigpen also had 73 rebounds, 44 assists, 15 steals and 16 blocks. In his three seasons at Olivet, Thigpen has scored 900 points in 61 games for a 14.8 average.
