OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's basketball dropped a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) game to Calvin University, 95-84, today at the Cutler Event Center.

- In the first four minutes of the game, neither team led by more than two points. With the Comets clinging to a slim 12-11 lead, the Knights went on a 15-0 run to go up 26-12. Calvin eventually extended its lead to as many as 25 points twice, including 53-28 at halftime.
- The Knights pushed their lead to 28 points on two occasions in the second half. After the last time at 79-51 at the 8:31 mark, the Comets closed the game on a 33-16 run to create the final score.
- Three Olivet players reached double figures in the scoring column.
- Senior Eddie Thigpen led the way with 23 points.
- Junior Tevin Ali contributed 17 points and grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
- Senior Derrick Johnson added 15 points.
- Junior Noah Wiswary dished out five assists.
- Our turnover problem, especially in the first half, continues to be our number one issue," said Olivet head coach Sam Hargraves. "It's hard to consistently defend and when you give the other team so many free possessions, and especially in transition opportunities.
- Luke Morrison led all scorers with 30 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the floor and 7-of-8 shooting from the free throw line.
- Marcus Bult came off the bench to score 19 points, including five three-pointers.
- Uchenna Egekeze tallied 16 points.
- Eli Sensenig finished with 11 points.
- Emmett Warners pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
- Olivet is back in action next Monday, February 7, when it hosts Kalamazoo College at 7 p.m.
