- After a 6-6 tie, the Knights scored 10 straight points. The Comets battled back and took a 33-31 lead with 4:21 left in the first half. The teams exchanged points to two tied scores. After the last time at 35-35, Calvin out-scored Olivet, 10-4 over the final 2:55 of the half to lead 45-39 at the break. The Comets scored the first basket of the second half, and that would be as close as they would get for the rest of the game.
- Senior Chris Martin came off the bench to score a season-high 23 points. He also grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.
- Junior Ryan Robinette netted 12 points.
- All five Calvin starters scored in double figures.
- Emmett Warners posted a double-double, 19 points and 11 rebounds.

- Uchenna Egekeze had 15 points.
- Brandon Paul and Thad Shymanski finished with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
- Jordan Katje pulled down a game-best 13 rebounds.
- "We will really need to look at some things on film to figure out exactly what happened today," said Olivet head coach Sam Hargraves. "But it felt like they really out-toughed us rebounding in the second half. We got them to miss enough but did not get the ball when they missed. Second chance points really hurt us, especially in the second half. Then it is just hard to win when shoot 41 percent from the floor and 29 percent from the three for the game."
- The Comets will travel to play Hope College for their first official Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest next Tuesday, February 6. Tip-off at the DeVos Fieldhouse is at 3 p.m.
