Men’s basketball team topped by Adrian, 96-83
The Olivet College men's basketball team dropped a 96-83 decision to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Adrian College this afternoon at the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men's basketball team dropped a 96-83 decision to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Adrian College this afternoon at the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center.

- The Comets led by 12 points, 23-11, at the 10:52 mark of the opening half. The Bulldogs chipped away at their deficit and trailed by one point, 35-34, with 3:32 left until halftime. OIivet scored 12 of the next 15 points to push its lead back to eight points, 46-38. An Adrian three-pointer made the score 46-41 at the intermission.
- The Bulldogs used a 16-1 in the first four minutes of the second half to take a seven-point lead, 54-47. The Comets battled back to close the gap to two points, 81-79, with 3:31 remaining in the game. Olivet was never able to get any closer for the rest of the contest.
- Juniors Chris Martin, Shawn Pardee and Eddie Thigpen each scored 19 points.
- Martin also had six rebounds and five assists.
- Freshman Britton Angell dished out six of Olivet's 23 assists.
- Jordan Harris scored a game-high 31 points, including 27 in the second half.
- Jeremy Kalonji also tallied 31 points, with 17 coming in the final 20 minutes.
- Trey Helinski added 12 points.
- Kalonji and Ke'Shaun Wyatt-Morris grabbed eight rebounds apiece.
- The Comets start a four-game home-stand next Wednesday when they welcome Albion College to the Upton Center Gymnasium. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
