- After Olivet made the first basket of the game, a three-pointer by senior Keyon Rainey, the Pioneers drained their first five baskets and 3-of-4 free throws to go up 19-3 at the 16:16 mark. Wis.-Platteville extended its lead to as many as 24 points. After the last time at 41-17, the Comets outscored the Pioneers, 18-6, over the final seven minutes and 34 seconds of the half to cut their deficit down to 12 points, 47-35, at the intermission.
- In the opening 20 minutes, Wis.-Platteville made 17-of-34 baskets (50.0 percent), including six triples, and 7-of-8 free throws (87.5 percent). Olivet was 14-of-33 (42.4 percent) from the floor, with five three-pointers, and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Junior Shawn Pardee led the Comets with 13 points. Quentin Shields, Justin Stovall and Carter Voelker each had nine points for the Pioneers.
- In the second half, Wis.-Platteville scored the first two points. Olivet closed the gap to 12 points on three occasions. Following the last time at 60-48, the Pioneers went on a 14-0 run to gain their largest lead of the game and pull away from the Comets.
- Wis.-Platteville finished the game with 53.1 field goal percentage compared to 37.9 percent for Olivet. The Pioneers drained three more baskets from behind the arc and six more free throws, and committed five less turnovers.
- Pardee scored a team-high 15 points and dished out five assists.
- Freshman Noah Wiswary joined him in double figures with 10 points.
- Rainey and junior Colin Carter each had eight points.
- Rainey grabbed a team-best six rebounds.
- Five players scored in double figures, led by 19 points from Voelker.
- Stovall and Kyle Tuma each contributed 16 points.
- Shields tallied 13 points.
- Justin Fox came off the bench to score 10 points.
- Stovall finished with a game-best 10 rebounds.
- Olivet is now off until Wednesday, December 18, when it hosts Wilmington (Ohio) College for its home-opener. Tip-off at The Cutler Event Center is 3 p.m.
