Manuel earns 2018-19 D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region honors
Olivet College junior Trevor Manuel has earned 2018-19 D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region Third Team honors. He is now eligible to earn D3hoops.com All-America honors, which will be announced prior to the 2019 NCAA Division III Championship game Saturday at the Allen County War Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Olivet College junior Trevor Manuel has earned 2018-19 D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region Third Team honors. He is now eligible to earn D3hoops.com All-America honors, which will be announced prior to the 2019 NCAA Division III Championship game Saturday at the Allen County War Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Manuel was the Comets' leading scorer at 20.6 points per game and also topped the team in rebounding (9.3 rpg), blocked shots (65), field goals made (212), field goals attempted (394), free throws made (106) and free throws attempted (144). The 65 blocks broke Olivet's single-season record.
Manuel scored in double figures in all except one game, and had 16 games with at least 20 points. His single-game highs were 31 points and 20 rebounds against Greenville (Ill.) University. The 20 rebounds broke the single-game school record. Manuel also set a single-game record with seven blocks against Saginaw Valley State University.
Manuel aided the Comets to a tie for third-place in the 2019 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings. He was an All-MIAA First Team pick.
Manuel is the fourth player in school history to be named to the D3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region teams. The others were Michael McClary in 2009-10 and 2010-11, and Jalen Adams and Tracy Edmond in 2017-18.
