McClary named MIAA Co-Player of the Week
Olivet College junior center Michael McClary (Bellaire) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Co-Player of the Week for men’s basketball. He shares the honor with Alma’s Jordan Redditt. McClary is being honored for the second time this season and the fourth time in his career.

McClary had back-to-back double-double performances, as the Comets won both games at the MIAA-Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference Challenge Dec. 4-5 at Madonna University. In a 79-55 win over the host Crusaders, he scored 16 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. In an 89-81 victory over University of Michigan-Dearborn, McClary had 17 points and 15 rebounds. For the two games, he made 16-of-34 baskets (47.1 percent) and blocked four shots in 70 minutes.
For the season, McClary leads the team and MIAA in rebounding (12.2 rpg) and blocks (nine). He is third on the team in scoring (13.4 ppg).
Olivet (2-3) will travel to Grand Rapids to play Davenport University Thursday night at 7 p.m. The Comets will then host Spring Arbor University Saturday afternoon. Tip-off inside The Cutler Event Center is 3 p.m.
