Men's basketball team beats Andrews, 72-49, in the consolation game of the 2008 Gary Morrison Tournament
The Olivet College men’s basketball team beat Andrews University, 72-49, tonight in the consolation game of the 2008 O.C. Gary Morrison Tournament. For his efforts, sophomore Michael McClary (Bellaire) was named to the all-tournament team.

The Comets scored the first two points of the game and did not trail the rest of the game. Olivet's biggest lead of the first half was 23 points on two occasions with the last time being, 32-9, with 4:29 left when junior Blake Brannick (Jackson/Lumen Christi) made a layup. The Comets took a 39-21 lead at halftime. In the second half, Olivet led by as many as 27 points, 67-40.
Michael McClary and older brother Brandon posted double-doubles for the second straight night to lead the Comets. Michael scored 18 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out four assists and blocked three shots. Brandon had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior James Scott (Detroit/Finney) also scored 12 points.
Sean Thorne, who was also selected to all-tournament team, scored a game-high 20 points for Andrews. Ryan Little collected a team-high five rebounds.
In the championship game, Notre Dame College of Ohio defeated Concordia University, 80-71, in double overtime.
Olivet returns to the court Tuesday, Nov. 25 for a 7:30 p.m. game at Ferris State University.
