Two days after being named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week, Olivet College sophomore center Michael McClary (Bellaire) was one of five players to earn D3hoops.com Team of the Week honors.
Each week during the college basketball season, D3hoops.com staff selects one team -- one center, two guards and two forwards -- for the honor. McClary joins David Arseneault, a guard from Grinnell (Iowa) College; Brian Baskauskas, a guard from Amherst (N.Y.) College; Luke Caldarera, a forward from Trinity (Texas) University; and Terrell Hollins, a forward from Brandeis (Mass.) University, as this week's honorees.
McClary posted back-to-back double-doubles, leading the Comets to a pair of wins Dec. 5-6 at the MIAA-WHAC Classic. In a 70-66 win over Madonna University Dec. 5, he scored 20 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked five shots. The following day, McClary scored a career-high 24 points to go along with 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in an 83-73 win over University of Mich.-Dearborn.
Olivet (4-4) will travel to play Spring Arbor University Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
