The Olivet College men’s basketball team ended its season with a 69-39 loss to Calvin College tonight in the first round of the 2007 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament at the Calvin Fieldhouse in Grand Rapids.

The Comets (5-20) were led by junior Brandon Way (Detroit/Southwestern) with a game-high 13 points. Freshman Andy Sierminski (Jackson/Lumen Christi) and junior John Zenner (Kingsley) each scored seven points. Freshman Jon Shurr (Valparaiso, Ind./Boone Grove) grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
John Mantel came off the bench to score 11 points for the Knights (16-9). Dustin Smith joined him in double figures with 10 points. Kyle Snoeyink had a team-high seven rebounds.
Calvin advances to play Tri-State (Ind.) University in a semifinal contest of the MIAA Tournament Friday at 6 p.m.
