Football: Foust tabbed MIAA Offensive Player of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Sophomore quarterback Thomas Foust from The University of Olivet has been tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week.
Foust helped the Comets defeat Kalamazoo College, 42-14, in its MIAA-opener October 7 at Angell Field in Kalamazoo. He accounted for 321 yards, throwing for 242 yards on 13-of-16 passing and running for 79 yards on 14 carries. Foust threw touchdown passes covering four, 41 and 48 yards, and ran for a 13-yard touchdown.
For the season, Foust has completed 38-of-59 (64.4 percent) passes for 681 yards ands six touchdowns. He also has 51 carries for 386 yards and five touchdowns.
The Comets return to the field Saturday at Trine (Ind.) University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. from Shive Field in Angola, Indiana.
