Football team falls to Alma, 49-35
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College football team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) co-leader Alma College, 49-35, this afternoon the Cutler Athletic Complex.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College football team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) co-leader Alma College, 49-35, this afternoon the Cutler Athletic Complex.

- Records: Alma 8-0 overall, 4-0 MIAA; Olivet 5-3 overall, 1-3 MIAA
- The Scots scored a touchdown on its first four possessions and the last possession of the second quarter to lead 35-0 at halftime. Three of the five touchdowns were scored after a Comet turnover – a fumble and two interceptions.
- Olivet got on the scoreboard with 8:56 left in the second quarter when senior Nyassinu Crowell, Jr. rushed two yards into the end zone. The drive was set-up by senior Logan Fee's interception return.
- Alma answered on its ensuing possession to go back up 35 points, 42-7.
- The Comets quickly responded, as on their first play from scrimmage, freshman Thomas Foust threw a 67-yard touchdown pass to senior Jalen Broussard.
- Olivet's defense forced the Scots to punt. After getting the ball back, the Comets used a six-play, 80-yard drive to make the score 42-21 with 13:16 left in the game. The touchdown was a 28-yard pass from Foust to senior Jacari Hamilton.
- Alma turned the ball over on downs on its next possession.
- On the first play, Foust connected with Broussard for a 56-yard completion to the Alma 3. After a two-yard gain by Crowell, Foust ended the drive with a one-yard sneak into the end zone to make the score 42-28.
- The Scots retaliated with a 14-play, 79-yard scoring drive to extend their lead back to 21 points.
- Olivet capped the scoring when Foust tossed a 21-yard touchdown pass to senior Nick Pagano.
- Alma was able to recover an on-side kick, followed by two kneel downs ended the game.
- Olivet finished the game with 486 yards.
- Foust had 11 carries for 87 yards and threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns on 7-of-12 passing.
- Broussard caught eight passes for 196 yards.
- Seniors Damani Carter and David Curl each had 10 total tackles.
- Fee tallied eight tackles to go along with his interception.
- Carter St. John completed 24-of-34 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed 11 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns. Eddie Williams had 15 carries for 69 yards.
- Nathan Goralski hauled in 10 passes for 72 yards.
- Eddie Williams had 75 receiving yards and 69 rushing yards.
- Odin Soffredine topped the defense with eight tackles.
- The Comets are on the road next Saturday, November 5, at Albion College. Kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
