Football team flies past Greenville, 63-7
GREENVILLE, Ill. – Seven different players scored a touchdown, as the Olivet College football team rolled to an easy 63-7 victory over Greenville (Ill.) University today at Francis Field in Greenville, Illinois. With the win, the Comets finish their non-conference schedule with a perfect 4-0 record.

GREENVILLE, Ill. – Seven different players scored a touchdown, as the Olivet College football team rolled to an easy 63-7 victory over Greenville (Ill.) University today at Francis Field in Greenville, Illinois. With the win, the Comets finish their non-conference schedule with a perfect 4-0 record. In addition, the 63 points ties for the 11th-most in school history for a game.

- The Comets wasted no time in scoring the game's first touchdown. On their third play from scrimmage, freshman Samuel Kunnuji rumbled 73 yards for the score.
- Olivet extended its lead to 14-0 after sophomore Evan Ormsby tossed a 36-yard touchdown pass to freshman Dontal Wright.
- Senior Logan Fee intercepted a Greenville pass to stop its next drive. He returned the pick to the Panther 40-yard line. On the Comets' fourth play, senior Nyassinu Crowell, Jr. rushed 20 yards for the touchdown.
- Greenville was forced to punt the ball back to Olivet. A 6-play Comet drive was capped by a 23-yard touchdown run for Kunnuji.
- The Panthers got on the scoreboard for the first time when Paul Garrett ran 51 yards for a touchdown.
- Olivet answered with a score on its ensuing possession. Ormsby threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to junior Deonte Higgins.
- Greenville drove down the field before turning the ball over downs at the Comet 25-yard line. After getting 20 yards on the first three plays, Kunnuji rushed 55 yards for a touchdown. Senior Samuel Roose made his sixth PAT kick of the half to make the score 42-7 with 1:05 left in the second quarter.
- The score remained 42-7 at halftime.
- Olivet used a pair of quarterback sneaks to put 14 points on the scoreboard. The first one came from a yard out by Ormsby at the 9:21 mark and the second from six yards out by freshman Thomas Foust at the 2:00 mark. The later was set-up by a 24-yard interception return by sophomore Jeramey King.
- The Comets capped their scoring with 6:48 left in the game on a nine-yard touchdown run by sophomore Bo Brandt.
- Olivet totaled 577 yards of offense – 420 on the ground and 157 through the air.
- Kunnuji had eight carries for 196 yards and three touchdowns.
- Crowell, Jr. rushed eight times for 65 yards.
- Brandt had seven rushes for 67 yards.
- Ormsby completed 11-of-20 passes for 138 yards.
- Wright caught two passes for a team-best 39 yards.
- Sophomore Cole Shoobridge had two receptions for 27 yards.
- On special teams, Roose was 8-of-8 on PAT kicks and averaged 61 yards on nine kick-offs.
- Junior Justin McMurren led the defense with six tackles.
- Sophomores Austin Berkompas and Isaac Rowe each tallied five tackles.
- The Comets have their bye week next Saturday and then open Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Saturday, October 8, against Kalamazoo College. It is also Olivet's Homecoming contest, with kick-off slated for 2 p.m. from the Cutler Athletic Complex.
