OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College football team fell to Trine (Ind.) University, 36-21, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.

- The Thunder took a 7-0 lead on a 36-yard touchdown pass from Alex Price to Connor Arthur.
- The Comets answered on their ensuing drive when freshman Akeem Benjamin hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from senior Kaleb Jarrett with 6:33 left in the opening quarter.
- Trine came back with a nine-play drive, capped by a 19-yard touchdown reception by Brandon Kline to go ahead 14-7 in the final minute of the first quarter.
- The Thunder extended their lead 20-7 with a two field goals by Ryan Hibbets in the second quarter.
- Benjamin caught an 81-yard touchdown pass in the final seconds of the first half to make the score 20-14 at the intermission.
- Two Trine touchdowns – one in the third quarter and one in the fourth quarter – made the 33-14 with 13:27 left in the game.
- Olivet cut its deficit down to 12 points, 33-21, after Benjamin snagged his third touchdown of the game, this one from 12 yards out, at the 5:25 mark of the final quarter.
- The Thunder capped the scoring with a 22-yard field goal by Ryan Hibbets.
- Olivet finished the game with 307 yards of offense.
- Benjamin caught eight passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns.
- Junior tight end Seth Young had four catches for 49 yards.
- Jarett completed 20-of-38 passes for 309 yards.
- Senior Kolby Williams topped the defense with eight tackles, with seven solo stops.
- Senior Andrew Campbell recorded seven tackles.
- The Thunder totaled 483 yards.
- Price threw for 331 yards on 16-of-25 passing.
- Kline hauled in five passes for 110 yards.
- Arthur had four receptions for 91 yards.
- Xaine Kirby led the ground game with 18 rushes for 90 yards.
- Defensively, Kyle Naif had a team-best seven tackles.
