Higgins and Jarrett named MIAA Football Athletes of the Week
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College freshman Deonte Higgins and senior Kaleb Jarrett have been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athletes of the Week for leading the football team to its 55-14 win over Kalamazoo College.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College freshman Deonte Higgins and senior Kaleb Jarrett have been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athletes of the Week after leading the football team to a 55-14 win over Kalamazoo College.
Higgins was selected the Special Teams Player of the Week. He returned two kickoffs for 81 yards. One of the returns was the opening kickoff which he ran back 55 yards. Higgins also caught three passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns, which covered 61 and 20 yards.
Jarrett was named the Offensive Player of the Week. He completed 13-of-19 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns in just over one half of action. Jarrett also had a three-yard touchdown run.
The Comets are scheduled to host Albion College Saturday at 1 p.m.
