Olivet College’s McMinn named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week
Olivet College senior Noah McMinn has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for football.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Noah McMinn has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for football.
McMinn had 30 carries for 237 yards and a touchdown in the Comets' 21-17 victory Oct. 12 over Adrian College. The 237 rushing yards is the sixth-most in a game in school history. He also caught two passes for 21 yards. McMinn's longest rush of the day was a 63-yard play in the fourth quarter. Later in the final stanza, he had two first-down rushes covering 10 and 16 yards to help Olivet run out the final three minutes and 44 seconds of clock time.
For the season, McMinn has 112 rushes for 623 yards and six touchdowns to go along with 12 receptions for 117 yards. His 36 points are tied for the team lead.
The Comets (5-0, 2-0 MIAA) travel to play two-time defending league champion Trine (Ind.) University on Saturday. The Thunder have lost their first two MIAA games, 51-0 to Hope College and 23-14 to Alma College. Kick-off at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium is 1 p.m.
