Lilly tabbed MIAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Olivet College senior running back Damorria Lilly has tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Football Offensive Player of the Week.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior running back Damorria Lilly has tabbed the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Lilly carried the ball 37 times for 203 yards and three touchdowns in Olivet's 44-27 win over Trine (Ind.) University Nov. 12 at the Cutler Athletic Complex. All three of his touchdowns came in the second half, and longest run of the day was 25 yards. For the season, Lilly has 156 rushes for 551 yards and seven touchdowns.
With the win, the Comets clinched the MIAA championship for the second straight season and an outright title for the first time in school history since 1974. Olivet has received the league's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division III National Championships and will play John Carroll (Ohio) University in the first round Saturday afternoon at noon.
