Baseball team loses 13-2 to Adrian in MIAA Tournament
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College baseball team fell to Adrian College, 13-2, in its first game of the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament at Nicolay Field. The Comets return to Nicolay Field to face Kalamazoo College tomorrow in an elimination game at 3 p.m.

- The Bulldogs scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the third inning, six runs in the fifth inning and four runs in the seventh inning to go up 13-0.
- The Comets pushed across their two runs in the eighth inning on an RBI-single by sophomore Tyler Campbell and RBI-groundout by junior Matt Hewitt.
- Olivet was held to just five hits, including a 2-for-3 effort by senior Logan Sella.
- Also notching base hits were Campbell, sophomore Daniel Ballagh and sophomore Sylas Woll.
- On the mound, junior Brendan Redding was tagged with the loss. He gave up all 13 runs (10 earned) on 16 hits over the first seven innings.
- Junior Tanner Finn pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
- The Bulldogs totaled 16 hits.
- Gunner Rainey was 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI.
- Joe Casale and Thomas Miller each had two hits in five at-bats.
- Aaron Valentine drove in three runs.
- Treyvin Groesser hit a two-run home run.
- Five pitchers combined to throw the nine innings. Trey Miller earned the winning after tossing two scoreless innings.
