Olivet baseball team sweeps MIAA Player of the Week awards
FREELAND, Mich. – The Olivet College baseball team has swept the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 15. Senior Matt Rehfeldt has been selected the Pitcher of the Week and junior Logan Sella has been named the Position Player of the Week.
FREELAND, Mich. – The Olivet College baseball team has swept the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 15. Senior Matt Rehfeldt has been selected the Pitcher of the Week and junior Logan Sella has been named the Position Player of the Week.
At the RussMatt Invitational in Florida, Rehfeldt made three appearances on the mound, and earned saves in two of the games. He threw one and two-thirds innings, with two strikeouts in a 10-6 win over Becker. Rehfeldt tossed the final two innings, while striking out three in a 3-2 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University. He did not walk a batter in either game.
Sella posted a .444 batting average (4-for-9) in three games last week at the RussMatt Invitational. One of the hits was a triple to give him a .667 slugging percentage. Sella drove in five runs, including three in a 10-6 win over Becker.
