McIntosh earns Academic All-District IV honors
Olivet College senior catcher Nick McIntosh (Petoskey) has earned 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV first-team honors for baseball as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College senior catcher Nick McIntosh (Petoskey) has earned 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV first-team honors for baseball as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The District IV teams are selected by sports information directors in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. McIntosh advances to the national Academic All-America College Division ballot.
McIntosh, who carries a 3.74 grade point average in criminal justice and psychology, started every game for the Comets and led the team with 30 RBI. He also finished the season with a .301 batting average, 20 runs scored, 46 hits, 10 doubles, three home runs, 65 total bases and .425 slugging percentage. Behind the plate, McIntosh made only four errors in 174 chances for a .977 fielding percentage. He earned 2005 and 2006 CoSIDA Academic All-District IV second-team honors
McIntosh and the Comets ended the 2007 season with a 14-26 overall record and 8-20 MIAA mark.
