McIntosh named MIAA Player of the Week

Olivet College junior catcher Nick McIntosh (Petoskey) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week for April 16-23.
In a four-game series against Calvin College, McIntosh hit .667 (8-for-12), tallied three RBI and scored six runs. He had a double and home run for a 1.000 slugging percentage. Behind the plate, McIntosh committed zero errors in nine chances.
For the season, McIntosh leads the team with a .372 batting average and .511 slugging percentage. He has also collected 35 hits, 16 runs, seven doubles, two home runs and 16 doubles. McIntosh has made only one error in 123 chances for a .992 fielding percentage.
The Comets (8-21, 5-15 MIAA) return to the field Wednesday, April 26, when they play Tri-State (Ind.) University in a MIAA doubleheader at C.O. Brown Stadium in Battle Creek. C.O. Brown is the home field for the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays, a minor league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
