Shelhart named to the 2005 Rawlings/ABCA All-Mideast Region second-team
Olivet College baseball sophomore centerfielder Chris Shelhart (Rolling Meadows, Ill./St. Viator) has been named to the 2005 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region second-team.
Olivet College baseball sophomore centerfielder Chris Shelhart (Rolling Meadows, Ill./St. Viator) has been named to the 2005 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region second-team.
This spring, Shelhart led the Comets in virtually every offensive category including batting average (.420 ), runs scored (41), hits (55), doubles (13), home runs (14), total bases (112), on-base percentage (.490) and slugging percentage (.855). His runs scored, hits, home runs, RBIs, total bases and slugging percentage totals are new school records. After two seasons at Olivet, Shelhart has tallied a .403 batting average, 58 runs scored, 91 hits, 15 home runs and .712 slugging percentage.
Shelhart is also a two-time first-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) selection.
The Comets wrapped up the 2005 campaign with a 21-16 overall record and tied for fourth-place in the MIAA with a 10-11 mark.
