The baseball team fell to non-conference foe Concordia University, 10-2, this afternoon in Olivet.

The Fighting Comets (9-7) scored a run in the third and ninth innings. The Cardinals (4-8) tallied four runs in the fourth inning and two runs in the third, sixth and ninth innings.
Junior James Melvin (Redford Thurston) plated junior Drew Benoit (Climax-Scotts) with the third-inning run. Sophomore Derek Ott (Kawkawlin/Bay City Western) hit a RBI single in the ninth inning to score junior Eddie Jones (Warren/St. Clement).
At the plate, the Olivet was held to eight hits, including three by Ott. Junior Blake Dunseth (Olivet/Coldwater) suffered the loss on the mound. He started and pitched three innings, allowing six hits and six earned runs. In relief, senior Dustin Bolt (St. Joseph) tossed four innings and sophomore Brad Dragicevich (Kalamazoo/Central) pitched the last two innings.
Olivet will next play a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association series at Tri-State (Ind.) University April 1-2. On Friday, the teams will play a nine-inning contest at 3 p.m. and on Saturday, the teams will play two seven-inning games beginning at 1 p.m.
